You’d think filming a sex scene with superhunk Hugh Jackman would be a piece of cake.
Not so for Jennifer Garner.
The baby-bumpin’ actress tells us having to get hot and heavy with the Aussie actor was—believe it or not—”horrifying!”
While filming their new indie flick Butter, Garner and Jackman had to record an off-camera sex scene in which both actors had to vocalize the sounds of their character’s lovemaking.
“Of course, it was like the first day we worked together,” Garner told us at last night’s AFI Festival premiere of the film in Hollywood. “It’s always like that. It’s always like, ‘It’s nice to meet you, now let’s moan and groan.’”
“I’m such a huge fan of his,” she laughed. “It was so horrifying.”
As for the ongoing speculation that Garner’s character in the dark political comedy is strikingly similar to conservative Republican figures Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, she said, “I didn’t look at the political figures of today at all. As far as the political stuff, that you’ll just have to read into yourself.”

Jennifer Garner is certainly not a chick to mess with.
Hello, haven’t you seen Alias? Or Elektra? Or any of the handful of flicks where she’s kicking ass and taking names? But in her new movie Butter, which we caught at the AFI Fest presented by Audi, Jen has an opponent of a different variety:
A kid.
“She’s a worthy adversary. Look at that kid,” Jennifer told us when we asked her what it was like going toe-to-toe with noobie Yara Shahidi, instead of her usual buffed-up competition. “She would take me down right now. It wouldn’t be that hard today; I’m pretty roly-poly, but she can do anything, this girl.”
What the heck is up with all these women talking about children (or babies, in Nikki Reed’s case) beatin’ them up? Oh well, at least it’s providing for some serious LOLs.
Oh, and for the record, the gal and girl do get into some heavy sparring on the big screen. And it’s hilarious in all the right ways—mostly because Jen, who plays a bitchy conservative Midwest trophy wife—cusses just as much as she prays.
And for the roly poly bit? Jen was indeed sporting a particularly round baby bump as she strutted down the carpet in a short, blue dress and killer black, strapped high heels. Kudos for the mama-to-be for staying super sexy throughout her trimesters.
Beyoncé would be jealous, we’re positive.
And it seems Jen is prepping her mommy mode, too, because as soon as she started talking about Yara, she couldn’t stop: “How about her face? Don’t you just want to eat her up?” Jen cooed.
Ugh, gag us. But on second thought, Yar is pretty friggin’ adorable.

Hugh Jackman was on Martha Stewart. He talks about his most embarrassing moment as an actor which was during filming his sex scene with Jennifer for Butter. Watch here.
Recap version below:
In an interview to air on today’s The Martha Stewart Show on the Hallmark Channel, Jackman tells Stewart about his most embarrassing moment on set, which happens to be shooting the sex scene of his new comedy Butter opposite onscreen wife Garner — who just couldn’t stop laughing.
“We have a love scene — a love-making scene. But, you don’t actually see it, you only hear it,” Jackman explains.
For the shot, director Jim Field Smith needed to record Jackman and Garner’s sounds while pretending to make love — and not just on a bed.
“It actually takes place in a car in a showroom. I’m a car salesman. So, we literally got in a showroom, in a car, Jennifer Garner and I in a backseat, director in a front seat. No camera man, just the sound recorders and he was like ‘OK guys – action!’ and we look at each other and go ‘OK.’,” he recalls. “We did it and he said ‘cut, cut, cut, this is not going to work. I can’t record you guys simultaneously; we’re going to have to do it separately.’”
So the 43-year-old Real Steel star describes how he had to “simulate a love-making scene” — happy ending and all — while being recorded for the movie.
“Yes, and I don’t know what it is — there is no way for a guy to be sexy. Guys can not sound sexy,” Jackman says of his pretend orgasm. “There’s no way around it, and when Jennifer Garner is laughing so much she had her head in the front seat trying not to make any noise while I was recording. Humiliating!”

Last night, a crowd of industry insiders and excited film enthusiasts gathered at the Bing Theater at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for a live table-read of John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club. This time, instead of Molly Ringwald and the gang, Up in the Air director Jason Reitman gathered an equally eclectic group of actors to reimagine the diverse sterotypes portrayed in the film. A lovely and very pregnant Jennifer Garner was beauty queen Claire (Molly Ringwald), James Van Der Beek was Andy the jock (Emilio Estevez), Mindy Kaling was basket case Allison (Ally Sheedy), Patton Oswalt was Brian the geek (Anthony Michael Hall), and, probably best of all, Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul was the criminal Bender (Judd Nelson). Rounding up the cast as those ever-meddling adults (cue eye-roll) were J.K. Simmons as Carl the janitor, and Michael Chiklis as Mr. Vernon. Reitman himself called out the directions on stage, while images from the film flashed on stage to signal a change of scene.
EW caught up with Reitman after the show, and he said that choosing the 80′s classic for this new experiment was a no-brainer. ”The Breakfast Club was just a perfect fit,” he said. ”I needed a film that was in a contained location with not too many characters, that was funny, that was populous, that had a great script that the audience would have a relationship with…it just hit the nail.”

It was 1985 all over again in Los Angeles last night as Patton Oswalt, James Van Der Beek, Mindy Kaling Jennifer Garner and Aaron Paul brought to life the brain, athlete, basket case, princess and criminal famously introduced in John Hughes’ classic, The Breakfast Club.
It was the inaugural evening of LACMA’s new Live Read series, conceptualized by Juno director Jason Reitman, who served as director and narrator for last night’s performance. One which even the most ardent fans of the original would find illuminating since the cast worked from the shooting script, which meant many scenes deleted from the finished film were performed, in some cases, for the first time.
The most notable being a boredom induced hallucinatory sequence that included unicorns, atom bombs and countless psychedelic images quickly intercut with rock music that aimed to illustrate the daydreaming born out of detention.
Elsewhere, a strict attention to detail was required as some of the most iconic lines from the film were improvised on-set, meaning they were absent from the original script and, therefore, last night’s reading. Plus, it’s clear the teen stars injected much of their own vernacular into the piece as some clunky verbiage (Allison calling Andy “dork lips” for one) never made it to the screen.
But perhaps the most noteworthy realization born out of the live-reading (aside from what a shockingly good Bender Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul made) is just how much Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall truly brought to their performances.
In the hands of different actors, the temperament of several crucial scenes was completely altered. For example, Mindy Kaling put an entirely new spin on her “basket case” by making her less menacing and more quirky thanks to a sing-songy line delivery that totally worked, but resulted in an entirely different version of the character.

Jennifer will be taking part of the live reading of The Breakfast Club directed by Jason Reitman tonight!
Jason Reitman announced the rest of the cast for tonight’s staged reading of The Breakfast Club at LACMA — and it’s amazing. Michael Chiklis will play the principal, Jennifer Garner will play the Molly Ringwald character of Claire, and Aaron Paul will play Judd Nelson’s character, Bender. Aaron Paul! As Judd Nelson! They join Mindy Kaling (Ally Sheedy), James Van Der Beek (Emilio Estevez), Patton Oswalt (Anthony Michael Hall), and J.K. Simmons (the janitor) in what sounds like the most fun tribute to the John Hughes movie ever. Take this staged reading on the road, please. [Jason Reitman]
Jason tweeted:

Some more info on it:
Reitman told 24 Frames that he was motivated to stage the unusual event because most filmgoers don’t get a chance to see how actors arrive at their characters. “It’s exciting to see a role developed from start to finish,” Reitman said.
And “The Breakfast Club,” he noted, particularly lends itself to the format. “It’s almost a play — even characters saying these great lines. It’s easy to imagine the scenes as you listen.”
